Sidmouth Gospel Choir is an inclusive, community choir which is open to anyone of any faith or no faith at all. SGC sing contemporary gospel with an authentic, ‘big’ sound and an infectious, heartwarming feel.

The roots of modern Gospel are in the songs of hope and freedom sung by African slaves in America’s Deep South. Many of these were based on the songs of the Israelites held captive in Egypt thousands of years ago.

Their cry for freedom and message of hope in times of trouble is still relevant today.
